Bach Festival- Continuing to the Regionals

Three days ago, I competed in a local Bach Festival- for those of you who do not know what a "festival"for the piano is, I shall explain; You elect which festival you wish to attend (contemporary, jazz, Baroque, Romantic, etc). After this, you find one or two music pieces which are categorized under these musical periods-these pieces usually need to be short, as your performance time is limited to about five minutes. You then go to (usually) a church of some sort and, along with about twenty other students, you perform your music for three judges. These judges choose whether you will proceed to the next level. I did a contemporary festival last year, and the Gold medalists were permitted to perform at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza; (I was a Gold medalist- I have no idea how though- I forget an entire movement during the tryouts.) In the Bach Festival I just competed in, I made it to the next level, or the Regionals. The Regionals will take place on May 3rd.

An Introduction.

I suppose I should of course first provide an introduction to myself. As I am only twelve, I of course shall not be the most entertaining, or witty of writer. I do, however, hope to hold your interest for a time at least.
My name is Devin, and I homeschool with my mother and brother; I swim with a competitive swim team called CSA (Conejo Simi Aquatics), which I enjoy immensely. Apart from my swimming, I play the piano as well- I have been doing so for the past eight years. I am mostly drawn to the Romantic Period of music, as the Classical and Baroque are far too mechanical for my mind. While on the subject of music, I should mention that I sing with the Los Robles Children's Choir, which has been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in June.
Another passionate interest of mine is one which is not, and can not be completed or sought until I reach ninth or tenth grade; I love the air force. I wish to be able to fly not TAC, but SAC, which is bombing missions, I believe. If I were to seek flight in the form of sleek fighter jets I believe I would never be able to pull away and follow the other paths I may find myself on later in my life.
I am very interested, as well, in learning Chinese and Arabic and using those languages to pursue a career as a (CIA) analyst.

I am sure that by now your eyes are rolling to the back of your head, thinking I am a flighty (near) teenager whose dreams and wishes are too big for her head. I assure you, however, as much as is in my power, I shall pursue my ambitions. I hope this leaves you with a brief summary of me, although you may never have cared to hear about me in the first place.
